ServSafe®

We provide Georgia’s food service industry with food safety training using the National and Georgia Restaurant Associations ServSafe® Manager program. We hold the ServSafe® Manager course and test quarterly and proctor additional exams by request. We can also provide ServSafe® Food Handler training.

The ServSafe® Manager workshops include the latest textbook, exam session, light refreshments, and 1 day of instruction.  We will break for lunch around noon.

Walk-a-Weigh

Walk-a-Weigh is back and better than ever! It’s an award-winning wellness program based on the National Diabetes Prevention Program and offered by UGA Extension! Take control of your health this year with a group of like-minded people!

We are offering 2 seven-week sessions for 2023. The first starts on Wednesday, September 27, and runs every Wednesday morning (9 AM – 10 AM) through November 8, and we will be walking at Dauset Trails. The second seven-week session will run from Tuesday, October 3, and runs every Tuesday evening (5:30 PM – 6:30 PM) through November 14th at the Monroe County Rec Center.

Each week includes a 30-minute nutrition lesson and a 30-minute walk.

Registration costs $10 and space is limited so act now! The program will be led by the UGA Extension Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Agent, Amanda Harner.
